Breathwork for Anxiety & Trauma Support

Somatic & Conscious-Connected Breathwork

Breathwork with Carol: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Transformation

Breathwork is a powerful therapeutic practice that uses conscious breathing to regulate the nervous system, calm the mind, release stored emotion and support deep healing. With a background spanning high-intensity fitness, martial arts, pranayama, qigong and over two decades in hypnotherapy, I bring an integrated and trauma-informed approach that is safe, grounded and deeply effective.

Whether you’re seeking emotional balance, relief from anxiety, increased resilience, or a deeper sense of clarity and connection, Breathwork offers a direct pathway back to your body’s natural intelligence. Each session is tailored to your needs, meeting you exactly where you are — gently, safely and with compassion.

Breathwork in Dubbo for Anxiety & Trauma Support

Breathwork is a powerful, natural therapy that helps calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, release stored emotion and restore clarity.

Whether you are seeking stress relief, trauma healing, emotional regulation or deeper self-awareness, breathwork offers a safe and effective pathway forward.

I offer trauma-informed breathwork in Dubbo and online, combining modern breathwork techniques with somatic principles to help you feel grounded, centred and clear.

What Is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a therapeutic approach that uses guided breathing techniques to shift your emotional state, support healing in the body, regulate the nervous system and access deeper awareness.

I specialise in Somatic Breathwork and Conscious-Connected Breathwork, which include:

  • coherent breathing
  • diaphragmatic (belly) breathing
  • gentle conscious-connected circular breathing
  • grounding breaths for anxiety
  • vagus nerve regulation techniques
  • relaxing 1:2 breathing
  • somatic sighing, humming or yawning

All sessions are tailored and suitable for beginners or experienced breathwork clients.

Somatic breathing simply means breathwork that focuses on the body (soma) rather than the mind.

Somatic breathing is a body-based breath practice that uses conscious breathing, awareness of sensation and slow rhythmic patterns to support emotional release, trauma processing and nervous system regulation. It helps clients reconnect with themselves, feel safe in their body, and unwind patterns held below conscious awareness.

Somatic breathing helps you get out of your head and back into your body so you can release stress, emotions or tension that talking alone can’t shift.

It emphasises:

  • internal sensations
  • bodily awareness
  • physical/emotional release
  • nervous system regulation
  • movement of stored tension
  • connection between breath, body and emotion

In somatic breathing, the breath becomes a tool to feel, notice, and release what the body is holding — instead of analysing or talking about it.

Benefits of Breathwork

Breathwork may help with:

  • Anxiety and overwhelm

Breathwork reduces sympathetic arousal and supports calm, safety and emotional balance.

  • Trauma and emotional release

A gentle, body-based approach to processing stored tension, fear or unexpressed emotion.

  • Stress and burnout

Breathwork lowers stress hormones and restores the body’s natural equilibrium.

  • Sleep and nervous system regulation

Ideal for busy minds, difficulty relaxing, insomnia and constant over-alertness.

  • Clarity and deeper self-connection

Conscious breathing can help access insight, creativity and spiritual awareness.

Breathwork for Anxiety and Trauma

For trauma or anxiety-based presentations, a trauma-informed approach is essential.

I use gentle, safe breathwork methods without aggressive breath-holds or intense hyperventilation.

This is ideal for those with:

  • PTSD or past trauma
  • chronic anxiety
  • emotional suppression
  • difficulty grounding
  • overthinking
  • a sense of being “stuck” or unable to relax
  • chronic anxiety
  • emotional suppression
  • difficulty grounding
  • overthinking
  • a sense of being “stuck” or unable to relax

Breathwork helps release trauma held in the body while maintaining control and safety.
